About the photographer
First of all, I'd like to introduce myself. My name is Abigail Thomas, and I am a wife to a great man, and a mother of three beautiful children ages 9, 8 and 5. I live with my family in Hamlin, NY. Since I was young I've loved taking pictures of a variety of subjects, and as I got older I've been able to work on my craft and bring it to what it is today. I am still learning, and will never stop learning as I continue on this course. Lilian Smith said, "When you stop learning, stop listening, stop looking and asking questions, always new questions, then it is time to die." I always have my camera with me, ready to take a picture of whatever entices me at the moment. Nature shots are a favorite of mine, but I also love taking photos of everyday objects, items many people use or see on a daily basis, or when out walking around, but never see as a subject in and of themselves.
About the name Living Waters
I had the idea a couple years ago to someday create a site and future business for my photography. I knew I would need a name for it, and some of the names I came up with were already taken such as Abigail Thomas Photography, Thomas Photography, etc. Driving home one day with my husband, talking about my photography, I came to a realization. God gave me the gift, and I should dedicate it to him. That's when "Living Waters" came to me. The Bible tells us that if we drink the water of Life we shall no longer thirst. God's Word is that water, and it is a constant reminder of where we came from, and where we are going. It reminds me to thank Him daily for the gifts he has bestowed upon me, and to share it with others. I like to think that my photographs reflect the beauty of his creation, even through the man-made objects, for who but God has given man the resources to create?
